The best printer for your organisation depends on more than the purchase price. Consider the quality of the finished card, the time needed to issue it and the ongoing cost of ribbons, cards and cleaning.
Card design and finish
Tell us what needs to appear on the card: photographs, names, barcodes, branding and fixed information. We can help you compare direct-to-card and retransfer printing and decide whether you need personalisation on one or both sides.
Volume and workflow
A reception desk issuing a few cards has different needs from a busy card office. Share your expected daily and peak volumes, who will operate the printer and whether it needs to be shared across a network.
Encoding and protection

Can CTS help us choose between printer brands?
Yes. Tell us your application, card design, approximate volumes and any encoding or security requirements. We will help narrow the options and prepare a quotation for a suitable configuration.
Can we order ribbons for an existing printer?
Yes. Include the exact make and model, plus the ribbon or consumable part number if you have it. This helps us identify the correct supplies and confirm availability.
Do we need a single-sided or dual-sided printer?
It depends on which information needs to change on each side. A card with a preprinted reverse may only need single-sided personalisation. If variable information is required on both sides, discuss a dual-sided configuration with CTS.
