Retransfer detail

Agilia prints onto a film that is transferred to the card, supporting a design that extends beyond the card edge. It is worth considering for detailed artwork and suitable smart cards.

Direct-to-card efficiency

Primacy 2 and Zenius 2 print directly onto compatible card surfaces. They also support special rewritable cards for credentials that need to be erased and updated.

Evolis Agilia, Primacy 2 and Zenius 2

Choose Agilia for fine retransfer detail, Primacy 2 for adaptable card production, or Zenius 2 for compact single-sided issuance. Each printer serves a different brief; the best fit depends on your cards and workflow.

Fine detail and full-surface designs

Evolis Agilia

Agilia combines 600 × 600 dpi retransfer printing with over-the-edge coverage. It is a strong choice for detailed photographs, small text and premium card designs, with single- or dual-sided configurations available.

Up to 150 single-sided or 100 dual-sided cards per hour.
200-card feeder, 100-card output hopper and colour touchscreen.
USB and Ethernet connectivity.
Optional magnetic stripe, contact and contactless encoding, plus compatible lamination.

Its high resolution supports fine graphic elements such as microtext. Compatible materials include PVC, composite PVC, PET, ABS and polycarbonate; CTS will confirm suitability for your card construction.

Flexible production and room to grow

Evolis Primacy 2

Primacy 2 is an adaptable direct-to-card printer for regular staff, student and membership card production. Its upgrade options help you develop your card programme as volumes and requirements change.

Single- or dual-sided printing, with rated speeds up to 280 single-sided or 170 dual-sided cards per hour.
100-card feeder; optional 200-card capacity.
USB and Ethernet, with wireless configurations available.
Colour and monochrome printing, plus rewrite technology for compatible cards.

Options include encoders, an LCD panel, lamination and Kineclipse ribbon-data masking. Suitable ribbon configurations can add a UV effect or double overlay protection. Ask CTS which features are included in your quotation.

Compact everyday badge printing

Evolis Zenius 2

Zenius 2 suits smaller offices, reception areas and organisations issuing single-sided cards in small or medium runs. It combines a compact format with colour, monochrome and rewritable-card printing.

300 × 300 dpi standard resolution, with extended resolution modes.
Up to 180 colour or 700 monochrome cards per hour.
50-card feeder and manual card insertion.
ID-ALL Starter card design software supplied.

Classic provides USB connectivity for graphic personalisation. Expert adds Ethernet and supports optional encoders and YMCKOO ribbons for additional card protection or UV effects. Digital erasing removes print data from printer memory after issuance.

Speeds are manufacturer maximum ratings and depend on print mode, ribbon, artwork and configuration. Encoding and lamination can affect throughput. Combine CTS preprinted plastic cards with Evolis desktop printing for high-quality, cost-competitive security card solutions. We produce the fixed artwork—your logo, branding, backgrounds and standard information—while you add each cardholder’s photograph, name, number or barcode when it is needed.

This gives you a consistent card design across the organisation and control over new cards, replacements and day-to-day issuance.

Preprinting a common reverse can simplify single-sided personalisation. Where only text or a barcode needs to be added, a suitable monochrome ribbon may lower the personalisation cost.

CTS will help assess the printable areas, card construction and ribbon choice. We will match the solution to your artwork, card quantities, durability requirements and any electronic encoding.

Evolis ribbons, retransfer film and consumables

CTS supplies consumables for Evolis card printers, including colour and monochrome ribbons, Agilia retransfer film, cleaning products and compatible laminates for equipped systems. We also supply blank and preprinted cards for your application.

Choosing consumables by the exact printer model matters. Agilia retransfer supplies, Primacy 2 ribbons and Zenius 2 ribbon options are not interchangeable simply because they carry the same brand. Send us your model and part number, if available, so we can confirm compatibility and quote current pricing and availability.

Regular cleaning and the correct ribbon and card combination help maintain consistent results. Talk to CTS about the supplies needed for your expected production volumes.

Which Evolis printer is best for our ID cards?

Can we personalise preprinted cards?

Yes. CTS can prepare preprinted cards for compatible Evolis personalisation. Confirm the card material, artwork and printing areas with us first, especially if the card includes a chip, magnetic stripe or signature panel.

Does a security feature come with every configuration?

No. Encoding, lamination, locking systems, ribbon effects and other features vary by model and configuration. Your quotation should identify the equipment, software and consumables required for the intended result.
